Who We Are

The Pitkin County Incident Management Team (PCIMT), under the direction of the Pitkin County Sheriff, was established to organize and support the local Incident Commander in the management of any local jurisdiction’s most serious, complex and costly incidents.  Incidents are managed in a safe and cost-effective manner with incident objectives, resource values, as well as social, environmental issues as a priority.  Our focus is to manage your incident so you can attend to your staff, your citizens and your family. All activities are conducted in a manner that ensures the safety of all personnel and the general public.

The PCIMT has managed numerous incidents in and around Pitkin County with great success. Most notably, the PCIMT was the initial incident management team on the 2018 Lake Christine Fire in Basalt, CO. Additionally, the PCIMT has managed the Winter XGames, an extreme winter sports event with over 115,000 attendees, and 120 public safety personnel to great acclaim.
