The Operations Section Chief (OSC) manages all aspects of the Operations Section, which covers the five mission areas: protection, prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery. He/she provides the tactical assignments documented in the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and directs its execution.
The Operations Section Chief makes expedient changes to current operations based on the complexity or magnitude of the incident and reports those changes to the Incident Commander (IC). The OSC will ensure the safety and welfare of Operations Section personnel and coordinates operations at the local level
Critical to the success of the OSC, he/she will supervise and configure the section with branches, divisions, groups, and units to support operations
